The global travel transportation startup added 33 new destinations in 2022, aiming to reach 200 by the end of 2023 and 400 destinations by the end of 2024!
January 16th 2023, Athens – Welcome Pickups has reached the milestone of 100 destinations. It took the company four years to open its first 33 destinations, an additional two years for the following 34 destinations during the pandemic and 33 more destinations followed in 2022 alone. After succeeding in doubling the speed of its geographical expansion rate year by year, the global ground transportation startup sets the bar high with a focus on expanding mainly in North America (USA) and Central and Latin America. The majority of the destination launches planned for 2023 have similar strong travel trends, exponential demand for inbound travel and stable operating conditions.

Today the geographical footprint of the business is split between Europe and the rest of the world, with ⅔ of the destinations being in Europe, followed by the Americas (12%), The Middle East (9%), the Far East (8%) and Africa (6%).
As the network expands, Welcome Pickups will be recruiting over 40 new team members for critical roles, based both in their head office in Athens, Greece and other international locations across their organization, while they will also be seeking new strategic partnerships with hospitality and travel companies to accelerate its growth.
